Rainfall situation and Type of Contingency (Midseason Drought) : In 2011 during south-west monsoon (kharif), the village received 637 mm which was deficit by 198 mm compared to normal (835 mm). The kharif rained crops experienced dry spells in the month of September.

Contingency Plan Implemented: To mitigate dry spells a conservation furrow was opened at 30 DAS after every 4 rows in soybean crop.
Performance: Opening of conservation furrow after every 4 rows at 30 DAS helped in conserving the moisture and resulted in better performance of soybean (Fig) and increased seed yield by 33.6% ( 2075 kg/ha) compared to no conservation furrow (1553 kg/ha).
